Like many rodeo announcers, Davie's love of rodeo began as a contestant when he joined the Minnesota High School Rodeo Association in the 1980's. Working both ends of the arena roping calves and riding bareback and saddle bronc horses, he went on to qualify for the National High School Finals Rodeo and later on, the PRCA Great Lakes Circuit Finals 4 times in saddle bronc riding in 1987, '88, '89 and '92.
Davie migrated to the announcer's stand when he announced his first rodeo filling in for a no-show announcer. Since then, Davie has worked his way up working high school, college, & finally professional rodeos and bull ridings throughout the United States and Canada.
"Living out the dream of being a successful PRCA announcer has been a sensational Journey for me, and without the help and advice from many people
- including stock contractors, rodeo committees, specialty acts, clowns, fellow announcers and friends - this would never have become a reality."
Davie is quick to admit that his wife Nicky (who handles rodeo music production and sound) is a big part of his continued success. The two of them travel together throughout much of the year.
Along with announcing rodeos Davie also freelances as a commercial voice talent and spokesperson.
His insight as a past contestant and his Midwest
work ethic has helped Davie become one of the most exciting and sought after
voices in the PRCA. He has been heard at such prestigious events as the
Black Hills Stock Show Rodeo, PRCA Xtreme Bulls Tour, and on ESPN, ESPN2,
and ESPN360.
In 2009, Davie was recognized along with
some of the industry's elite by the Women's Professional Rodeo Association
by being nominated for 2009 W.P.R.A.
Announcer of the Year.

Nicky Kimm, co-owner and operator of Chute Tunes "Wild & Western" Rodeo Music Productions has a long history of involvement with the western industry.
Nicky grew up in the small southern Illinois town of Walnut Hill. Where she helped with the family horse business on her parent's Thoroughbred horse farm. Growing up she attended many rodeos at which her father competed. She competed in 4-H horse judging, horse bowls, sports, and showed horses, qualifying for the World Junior Quarter Horse Show. After completing studies at Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, MO, Nicky graduated as a Doctor in 1997. Soon after that she went on to also become certified in Animal Chiropractic.
Nicky moved to Minnesota when she married her husband, rodeo announcer, Davie Kimm in August of 2000. Shortly after being married, Nicky learned about computer-generated music and sound to begin assisting Davie at rodeos where he was announcing.
When not on the rodeo road, Nicky can be found at Lakeville Family Chiropractic, putting on a seminar, or enjoying the great outdoors.
"I have gone to rodeos my whole life and I believe without a doubt that it is the greatest sport. I like to use a variety of music to enhance everyone and everything at the event. I am honored to participate at your rodeo and hope you enjoy the show!"
